During the lockdown, I recorded what seemed the most important moments, challenges and learning experiences. I created drawings, lists of objects and procedures, and wrote poetry.
The living-in and thinking-in was insightful: an auto-ethnographic research method, or a kind of analytical presencing, which helped me to form the thinking for both my practice and my writing.
‘The nettles will provide’ became a mantra and the sketches and poems became a hand bound artist book – a record of an off-grid lockdown experience.
