Creative-destructive

The following two films are part of my ongoing studio work – exploring the transformative and impactful production processes involved in art-making. I began considering ways of practicing without penetrating, mining or severing anything; a complimentary, perma-art practice, as explored in my dissertation.

The films were created between December 2019 and March 2020. The sound is made up of recordings of studio practice activity: drilling, sawing, cutting and grinding. The words and images were created in response to the sounds.

Five months in Jess Valley

This short film is compiled from footage taken while I was self isolating during the March- July lockdown. During this time, I was able to further explore ideas around perma-art practice.
