Originally Harminder the elephant was commissioned by the IHWO, (Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation), for the annual Northampton Diwali Lights festival in 2015. She was built by Rost Productions and colleagues when Jessica was the Artistic Director of an outdoor arts organisation in Milton Keynes.
Harminder has attended the Diwali Lights event, alongside several other large scale Diwali puppets, every year ever since, and has attended many other festivals and events too.
Harminder is now housed at Milton Keynes Museum where you can go and visit her, inbetween her adventures with the community.
Northampton Diwali Lights festival has become very popular and has been going now for over 25 years thanks to the support of Northampton BID and others, as well as the tireless work of volunteers, community members and the IHWO.
